Book reading advice for anyone with the plague...
If you've arrived at this page after clicking on an advert from the 'National Society For Warning People Not To Borrow A Library Book If They've Got The Plague' then I'm sorry to say that it was a fake advert. There's no such organisation as the 'National Society For Warning People Not To Borrow A Library Book If They've Got The Plague' and the advert was just a piece of random daftness on my part.
The claims in the advert are true, however, and under section 25 of the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984, it is indeed illegal in the UK to borrow a library book if you're suffering from the plague, or in fact any notifiable disease such as anthrax, botulism or diptheria. Anyone who disregards this law could be subject to a fine of up to £200, although if you've got the plague then presumably a fine probably wouldn't be your greatest concern.
